The lineup for August follows; call or email for info about September.

Aug. 5 - Pepi, Luci, Bom y Otras Chicas del Monton / Pepi, Luci, Bom and Other Girls on the Heap

(Comedy, 1980). A characteristic Almodóvar mélange of dramatic plots that twist and turn through multiple facets of relationships between family and friends. Simultaneously, Pepi and her friends explore the Madrid punk scene and its cast of outrageous characters.

Aug. 12 - Entre Tinieblas / Dark Habits

(Comedy, 1983). Yolanda, a cabaret singer, is desperate to escape the police and seeks refuge in a convent of eccentric nuns. Her arrival, seen as a Divine Blessing, starts a chain of events that explores religion, morals and values in modern Spanish society.

Aug. 19 - Qué He Hecho Yo Para Merecer Esto? / What Have I Done to Deserve This?

(Comedy, 1984). Set in 1980s Madrid, this film follows the trials of an unhappy housewife, her street-wise children and sexually frustrated husband. Her best friend and neighbor is a prostitute, who brings a surprising ray of sunshine into her otherwise increasingly stressful and frenetic life.

Aug. 26 - La Ley del Deseo / Law of Desire

(Drama, 1987, Antonio Banderas). Almodóvar's first explicitly gay film focuses on a complex love triangle between three men with a dramatic parallel story of an incestuous transsexual relationship.
