Thursdays Danzón in Plaza Zaragoza
Take a gentle step into the Cuban culture of days gone by at this weekly dance event in tranquil, tree-lined Plaza Zaragoza. Cultura provides the music and dance instructors for danzón, a formal, ballroom-type dance; your friends and neighbors bring the enthusiasm and dance skills (or not!). About 200 people come each week to this free event, and chairs are provided if you just want to watch the more accomplished dancers spin, step and twirl their way around the plaza. 5-8 p.m. in the plaza at the corner of Calles Zaragoza and Guillermo Nelson in Centro.
5 Daylight Savings Time
Yes, it’s that time of the year again, when everyone runs around one hour late! Daylight Savings Time officially starts at 2 a.m. Sunday, but you probably want to turn your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night, just before heading to bed. Sweet dreams! - PHA
6-11 Semana Santa / Easter Week
Catholic or not, this festive religious holiday brings much more than prayers and church to the table. Thousands of nationals (as well as foreigners) flock to the beaches of Mazatlán for this week of sun, surf and fun. Expect hotels to be booked out, beaches to be wall-to-wall people, bars to be full and restaurants to be buzzing with an energy that only Semana Santa brings. Remember to leave for appointments hours ahead of time, as traffic is bound to be congested all the way along the malecon. - PHA

A quick Google of "Semana Santa 2009" + "Mexico" will give you several dates. Maybe April 12-18 is Semana Santa elsewhere in the world?
