5 Mardi Gras Fiesta Dixieland Jazz by the Cats ‘n’ Jammers Jazz Band will fill the air at this outdoor Mardi Gras Fiesta in the courtyard next to the Shrimp Bucket. Two shows/seatings are at 6-8pm and 9-11pm. $300 pesos include 3-course dinner (salad, fish & shrimp gumbo, crème brulé, glass of wine or domestic drink. Estero del Yugo, a 27-acre protected estuary in the northern Cerritos Beach area, offers great birding, with birds such as the Black-throated Magpie-Jay, Purplish Jay, Citreoline Trogon, migratory ducks, egrets, ibis, spoonbills and more. 1 Callejoneada! Dia de los Muertos

This procession/parade winds its way through the streets of Centro, starting and ending at the Plaza Machado, visiting altars set up in homes and businesses in remembrance of the deceased. However, it’s a raucous, fun affair, lead by keg-laden donkey carts, costumed dancers and live banda groups. Start-time: 6? 7? 8? Who knows? Head to your favorite restaurant in the Plaza and be ready to join in.
