The New Year began with a lunar eclipse (everything in form and matter will change) and the first day of the New Year itself is/was void as if clearing the way for the New Year. Mars is retrograde till March 10 and Mercury is also retrograde, till Jan.15.
It’s significant to begin a new year in retrogrades, a void-of-course moon and a lunar eclipse. 2010 will be a year of internal reflection; unfulfilled aspects of our lives may emerge. Our energy will feel withheld and later released when a healing will subtly begin. 2010 brings more change and transformation and this is symbolized by the fact that four major planets are in cardinal signs. Cardinal signs initiate new realities, cannot stand back and mull things over (mutable signs), or stay with “business as usual” (fixed signs). They are called to remove all obstacles that inhibit progress. Aries says, “I’ll initiate the new realities.” Libra says, “I’ll get everyone to participate.” Capricorn says, “I’ll reshape and redesign leaders, governments and our entire civilization.”
We, too, individually and collectively, will be called to help reshape our world. We will need to be practical in all areas, and look in all directions for solutions to world problems. Time’s running out. But we’ll do it…together.
Here are some tasks for the New Year. First, the Spiritual: Make contact daily with the kingdoms - mineral, plant, animal, human, Soul.
Then work on the Physical plane: Form community, be collaborative, buy land, plant Victory Gardens (of Gratitude), plant trees (edible & medicinal) & whatever grows in the area, save seeds (1-2 year’s worth), biodynamic & organic, gather tools, build greenhouses & dig ponds, gather rainwater, find water sources & protect them, build the soil (biodynamically), stay and buy local, build real assets (not virtual), build family wealth, support dreams of family members, learn to gather, harvest, forage, fish bake, can, dry, cook in the Sun and make fire. Pray.
ARIES (Mar. 21-Apr. 20) Try and try again with all endeavors. Don’t expect anything to come to fruition until mid-May. You’ll have many trial runs, planning and perfecting activities that highlight creativity, which will be inner focused and not outwardly seen. Maintaining optimism, being fully constructive and encouraging the self and others creates a helpful environment and atmosphere. Don’t think failure on any level. Think preparation.
TAURUS (Apr. 21-May 20) Correct foundations are stabilized, patience is recognized as an asset and everything is being redone if at first the work isn’t prepared with perfection, harmony and balance. Give yourself and others working with you ample time to make sure everything is safely intact.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) Life, people, communication, the mail, correspondence, – all seem disorganized, leading to difficulty – remember, Mars is retrograde. Follow-through doesn’t happen, things are unresolved, negotiations disappear and patience is in short supply. What you must do is small things, undemanding and repetitive things (including repeating information) over and over.
CANCER (June 21-July 20) Attempt many different projects, not just one. Don’t waste time. Follow up on every endeavor with care and effort. Monetarily make no changes and don’t output more money than usual. Conserve your energy and resources. Instead of action, create long-term plans you can implement the second half of the year. Create a journal where what you value is recorded; see if these values change as the year unfolds. Your garden is of value.
LEO (July 21-Aug. 20) You want to change your looks, how people see you. You also feel an impatience when energies sent out into the world don’t seem to make much impact. Energies are internal now. Be careful in how you interpret other people’s responses and how you literally greet everyone. Careful with fire, sharp tools and injuries to your head and face. Don’t push any river, person, event, plan or yourself. Be the tortoise.
VIRGO (Aug. 21-Sept. 20) Many Virgos go into contemplation, delve into their subconscious, read up on Jung and archetypes and Joseph Campbell books. You’ll emerge with an entirely new and different aspect on religion, spirituality and your place in the world. Clean all closets, garages, art spaces, drawers, shelves and under all furniture so when you finally emerge, your places are purified and perfected, two qualities that belong to you completely. The invisible world will be with you the entire time.
LIBRA (Sept. 21-Oct. 20) The world has slowed down, not much is getting done, things seem like they’re failing (they’re not), and group work, friends and even hopes and visions for the future seem somewhat hard-pressed, difficult and, at times, carried away to we-don’t-know-where. Generate parties and pastimes that dislodge the prevailing blues. Only you can be the leader for this. Make the gatherings plentiful and often till the retrograde passes.
SCORPIO (Oct. 21-Nov. 20) It’s not time to appear in the world and assume success. Instead, plan and strategize what your purpose and work truly is in the world, and in what way you want to be seen, recognized and bring your gifts forth. Study those you admire, those you would mentor, and those whose success reflects your aspirations for success. Think of serving others. This takes the focus away from competition, survival, losing or winning. Reposition your creative ideals.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21-Dec. 20) Your goals…what are they truly? Not outer goals but inner ones, for these are what propel you toward the direction that’s yours to have and to bring forth. It’s possible you may discover the Path and become devoted to it. Once this is revealed you’ll march forward with courage and love, wisdom and determination.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) Your inner life is of tremendous importance. It’s an excellent time to renew, reawaken, revive, relight and rekindle your most intimate relationship. This sets a new foundation for years to come. It will be what sustains you in the changing times. Be extremely careful with how money is spent. Don’t buy any large equipment or cars now.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 20) Working relationships, partnerships, intimacies will need great respect as they go through a reversal to renew all levels of interaction. Be generous with everyone you work with and all you meet, especially with loved ones. Ask for generosity in return. Working together closely creates a strong bond that assists in rising above possible frustrations. Success is linked to all parties attempting compromise and Right Relations. As the leader, you go first.
PISCES (Feb. 21-Mar. 20) Create and maintain a regular schedule that doesn’t change often, but gives you constancy, dependability and reliability. You’ll work overtime which could pressure you physically and emotionally. Tend to your work early. Everything’s changing and realigning on inner levels all around the world. Think of everything as an experiment, which it is. Stay poised with hope.
